The Lonely Planet Review

image from lonely planet
A guest let me know that he had found my guesthouse through the pages of Lonley Planet guidebook. It was the first I'd heard of it and I got pretty excited. A good review meant I might be seeing more travellers visiting us. But it got me thinking. Who were the reviewers? I learned later that when they visit a hotel they don't tell anyone who they are.

We're a low key place and they must have fit in just fine chilling out on our spacious balcony and enjoying some of our fine beverages, international cuisine and local favorites. Anyhow we're pleased to be noticed and try our best to help budget travellers have a memorable stay when they're in Phnom Penh. There's so much to do here. And we've always got a suggestion if you run out of ideas!

Anyway, here's what the kind folks at Lonely Planet had to say about us:

"A friendly little guesthouse, all rooms here include cable TV and bathroom. There is also a lively balcony restaurant with an international menu."

Our rooms run $7-10. We have a total of 10 rooms. 4 of the rooms have A/C - the big powerful kind! - and 6 of our rooms have nice fans for those who prefer it. Our rooms have double sized mattress in good condition with an active maid service ready to keep the linen fresh, the garbage emptied, the floor swept and the bathroom tidy.

Out on the balcony we've got free WI-FI for laptops (works in the rooms as well) and if you didn't bring your computer we've got 4 computers internet ready.

As for my internet posts, expect them to be sporadic. I speak English fluently but my writing isn't great -- I got some help with this post -- but my English is good enough to exchange emails. So feel free to email to write for more info or reservations and I will be sure to answer you!

If you arrive at the airport or by bus at one of the markets and you have not made arrangements for us to pick you up - no problem. You are more than welcome to take a room on arrival if we have one available.

As for finding us. It's pretty basic. You might see one of our guys with a sign. But if not, it's still easy enough to find us. From the airport, if you are arranging your own transport into the city by motobike driver or tuk-tuk expect to pay about $3-5. (From the markets transport is cheaper).

If your driver doesn't know exactly where DRAGON GUESTHOUSE is mention we are right next to "the Capitol" - everyone knows it. You could also mention Orussey market.

You're always welcome at the Dragon Guesthouse!
